Request council to rescind the previous motion to demolish the Water Tower.
The High River water tower is an integral part of our history and can be seen from across the the town. The beautiful tower within our community is frequently photographed, sketched, and considered an iconic element of our community.
To lose this, would be to lose a piece of our history, that unfortunately we don't have a lot left of after the flood.
In order to have the restoration project reviewed and re-evaluated before council (as I truly believe the original restoration estimate is ridiculous) I need your signatures. I need to show council members that the citizens of High River care about this beautiful monument. We need council to rescind the previous motion to demolish the tower. This will buy us time to have more then one company bid on the restoration.
I will stand before council, I will do all the work. I just need you to sign this petition, and share it on your wall.

The council thinks we will just roll over and watch them destroy our history for their convenience. I am spending my time digging into those inflated restoration figures because their excuses for demolition do not add up at all.

the water tower is a landmark where most our children in the daycare knows about a name for little park next to it... Don't understand why we keep destroying a little piece of history in our little town... I think and agree that the restoration cost is ridiculous.
these have been saved in other places. Paradise Alberta turned into town museum, another one is restaurant at the top gift store on bottom
This is a towering landmark in High River and to me, represents the fact that High River will climb to any height to stay strom. We've been here two years and are amazed at the strength of this beautiful town. Please, leave the tower in it's home.
I lived a block away from the water tower in High River and always thought it would be a great structure to refurbish and use as a Town Monument. It is on the highest elevation in High River and would be a great icon for the Town! So many possibilities for it!!
I think it would be a real shame to demolish. I am sure if allowed there would be folks that would donate there time to help with restoring the tower.

The water tower is part of High River, everything has changed so much in the last few years, let's keep something from the past. It was so sad to see the old 100 year old train bridge to go, I would hate to see the water tower see the same fate.
