HJS has been a place for me and so many other dancers I know that provided a platform for us train with amazing teachers From all over the world, that otherwise we wouldn’t be able to. A space where you could learn more about the field , keep in contact with the rest of the professional community of the city, find opportunities amongst all.
It will be a shame if it closed. Not only for us dancers, but also for the art audience. If there is no place for us to practice and further our art how would we be able to perform for an audience and keep being better and better.
How will we feel that there is still time and space for us to continue learning.
Please think of all the performances that you have been, the time required behind the scenes , and the immense training that is necessary for the dancers to have in order to present you a show

Henny Jurriens is so important especially for freelance dancers and dancers from abroad to train as their working on special projects in Amsterdam. Not only this but keeping artists in shape when they are in between performances/seasons. HJS also connects many of the wonderful dancers in Amsterdam, brings community, and gives them the ability to network and "cross-polinate" their art.

It is such a terrible shame that artists suffer so much under this pandemic. The loss of this studio would be massive please keep this to open , these dancers have SO MUCH TO GIVE to society ! It would truly be our loss.

Er is een plek nodig om te repeteren met dans, de meest prachtige expressie! Als deze studio verdwijnt is dat een ramp, het maakt het onmogelijk voor veel dansers om hun kunst uit te oefenen! Safe this space!

It’s such a special experience to share dancing with people from other cultures. I made some great memories at this studio while dancing abroad and completely support their future efforts!!
