As many people are saying YOU ARE DEFEATING THE POINT OF IT BEEN THE 'CITY OF CULTURE' do not close this museum down it has left a lot of memories in many a childhoods and should continue to do so.

I have grown up visiting this museum and was devastated to hear it would be closing to the general public. I visit it so much with my friends and family and it has been my favourite museum in the city. I think that to be City of Culture, such a monumental museum in the city must be kept open to the general public, even if run by volunteers to save money.

this is part of our heritage of the city and my grandchildren have had wonderful days out at this museum.
