A city should never close a museum anyway, but especially not during the run-up to becoming the UK City of Culture.

I can't believe they are considering closing the greatest museum in Hull!!! I always visit this museum and I even adore the shop. It hasn't changed a lot over the years, but that's what I like about it. Keep it open to the public!!

TOTAL STUPIDITY TO CLOSE THIS. NEED TO BE LOOKING AT WAYS OF MAKING HULL LOOK APPEALING TO VISITORS... TAKE A LONG HARD LOOK AT WHAT LIVERPOOL HAS DONE FOR SOME IDEAS

We should be opening more not closing them down. City of culture will come and all that got us there will have dwindled away at this rate!

City of culture 2017 - Close a museum, it doesn't make sense. The museums were one of the factors that secured it!

Lovely place to visit and should be left open for all to enjoy
This has always been my children's favourite museum in Hull - during our many visits there, we have...re-enacted a Victorian schoolroom; met an elderly first-time visitor to the Hands On History Museum who was thrilled to be able to walk around a space which was just like her childhood classroom; made new friends while putting on puppet shows; discussed the differences between washing clothes today in a machine and in the past using a dolly and tub; dressed up; done coin rubbings; played on the old rocking horse...basically, we have spent many a happy hour playing and learning and experiencing new things in the Hands On History Museum over the past 13 years. It will be a huge shame if we, and many other local and visiting families, cannot continue to enjoy this museum for many more years to come.
