Hull City Council needs to remember that they have been awarded the City of Culture 2017 and should not be closing such facilities.

Why are they even thinking of this when Hull is to be the City of Culture in a few years?! Keep our museums!

Please rethink this decision. We need more cultural attractions not less.

How can we be a city of culture if we allow all that is cultured to die and rot away?

I've visitied this museum my whole life. I'm 22 now and I no longer live in Hull, yet I still often visit and the museum is the one place I ALWAYS visit with friends and family. Because I've grown up visiting it. I took photographs for my A Level college film studies project there, I've dressed up there, played with my siblings there, done work sheets there, been to workshops with friends there, bought jewellery and gifts from the museum shop, visited with friends as I got older and then took my nieces and nephews when I was even older. I honestly cannot believe that they want to close this museum to the general public. What are you thinking? I've learnt so much visiting this museum over the years and it is probably the best museum in Hull after Street Life. If you want to make cuts then why not get volunteers in to run the museum? A City of Culture fights against the closing of those places which represent the city's distinctive cultural landmarks. A City of Culture that doesn't fight against those cuts doesn't deserve the title.
