You CANNOT remove coordinatators. It is cruel and unfair

As someone who was a part of EPIK and taught in Gangwon-do back in 2014 and has stayed in Korea. I am definitely grateful for the coordinator that I had at that time. There were so many issues that came up, not only for myself, but the other foreign teachers as well. That position is very important and should not be taken away. Please reconsider.

As a NET still living in South Korea after a number of years, I can’t even imagine not having a coordinator for the region. They communicate and disseminate important information and are the key point of call for all queries in relation to Office of Education and school related issues, let alone all the other information and advice they impart to us living here as foreign teachers. During covid even more, it seems truly bizarre to remove the position.

The role of an EPIK coordinator is extremely important for all of the EPIK teachers, regardless of the teacher's experience level. The support, assistance, and guidance they provide are necessary for every EPIK teacher within their respected district. Please reconsider your decision and do not eliminate this position.

Coordinators have played a vital role in maintaining not only communication between EPIK teachers but between EPIK teachers and the local education offices. Their advocacy has ensured that any issues are smoothly and accurately facilitated to the benefit of all parties. The loss of this position would negatively affect English programs across the province.

Having a coordinator really helped at adjusting to working and moving abroad. In small communities where we stand out ,having a coordinator makes it so much better because without them, it will be difficult to adjust and feel more at home. We need the Coordinators

Since we don’t have a union. The coordinators are the only ones looking out for the best interest and safety of NES teachers. Without them the schools would take advantage of their teachers without fear of repercussions.

I taught in South Korea, Gangwon-do for 3 years. My co-ordinators were valuable assets during my stay and helped me with adjusting to the country as well as navigating more situations. It would be a great loss to the programme if this position was removed.
Please make the right decision to keep in place.
