This has taught me so much and helped so many people I know to feel found and seen in a community they never would've had otherwise. While I do think some people take advantage of the ability to identify how one wishes, I don't think taking away a valued resource from the majority of people using it to become more educated and knowledgeable on genuine identities is the way to do that. Maybe a team that goes through and researches/filters certain entries or maybe a way to flag certain posts for removal. I'm sure people would have many ideas to help fix rather than lose a valued site, especially one made so well and so easy to navigate. I know my faceless words don't mean much, but I'm here anyways lol. Sorry for the ramble.

Preserving and making available information about gender is absolutely imperative for empowering the people to resist those who seek to harm them on the basis of gender. Complaining about the "harm" or "stupidity" of something that is inherently subjective and arbitrary is a tool of the oppressor and if you use them you are either one of them or one of their useful idiots, full stop.

FandomWiki, due to the fact it gets its name from fandom culture which is inherently queer, should be hearing and uplifting queer voices and not silencing them by shutting informative wikis down.

I don't use this wiki often, but it has been more than helpful to me and to many people, and by this wiki being taken down, this actively harms the LGBTQIA+ community. Fandom sounds pretty transphobic pulling this move and saying that it spreads "harmful misinformation."
