Save the Gender Wiki!

This wiki was extremely helpful to me in figuring out my identity. It has saved me a lot of confusion and struggle. Please don't let it be taken away.

I believe that the gender wiki shouldn't be removed. It infact is a great tool to transgender/non-cis individuals who are experiencing distress as to what their gender is. Removing such a thing will further oppress this minority as this representation especially of lesser-known identities is highly important to the queer society. There is no legitimate reason to remove this, and using sh identities is an invalid excuse as such things can simply be removed instead of the wiki as a whole.

Genderwiki was super helpful to me when I was figuring out my own identity, and I'm hoping we can keep it open for others

This is erasure of the LGBTQIA+ Community. Fandom has a history of doing this. 2 weeks is such short notice. This is how many terms and flags are lost to time.

This is LGBTQ+ erasure.

People have worked so hard on this wiki, and shutting it down with so little notice is abysmal and asinine.

Fandom is full of bloody hypocrites and it always has been. A part if me suspects this closure is so that there will be more traction to fandom's official LQBTQIA wiki (I say "official" because the majority of staff there are fandom stars which are thus affiliated with fandom... many pages on community central also show links to that place as well), because there is no reason to shut down a place that is so useful to so many people seeking their gender simply because of a few problematic pages that were going to be deleted anyways. I may be cishet but I still understand this place's importance to many, good luck with the petition gender wiki staff and godspeed

It's unfortunate that in the middle of an already delicate time for LGBT+ that another space we have deemed safe is being closed or taken without proper communication and notice. I hope you can find it within you to work with the admin team on this, especially as there is worse content on the Fandom page than what is here on this archive.

One body should not govern what gets to remain on a wiki site; a functional archive and something that exists to provide information to the uninformed & curious, much like a library. Additionally, fandom wiki has been openly xenogenderphobic & transphobic, not to mention rude and inconsiderate in handling the situation concerning the gender wiki. I don't believe they get to decide, even if they own the host body, without prior knowledge what is valid or deserves space on the internet. It belongs to us. Leave that which you do not understand alone; there are infinite other worse things than gender identities, of which there are thousands of on the wiki & will be ludicrously difficult to archive before removal if they go through with it.
