Please keep the GEMS program, it is an amazing program for our kids. I have three kids that were part of the program. They learned so many values, how to be part of a group that all have the same interests and strengths they did. Made a lot of friends and had an amazing support system (the teachers).

Gifted educational programs are essential to the success of gifted children. Accelerated or advanced classes are not enough, teachers who understand and work with this special needs category are as needed as those who work with other special needs groups. GEMS is a essential program that should remain accessible to all children who qualify in the district.

This program shaped our son into what he is today. This, combined with what it does for 2 working parents, shows the big loss our community would suffer without GEMS.
I hope this program can continue to benefit.

My son had a wonderful experience through the GEMS program. They gave him the skills to succeed in High school and then college. He was able to be with a group of like minded kids throughout middle school and high school who have all (mostly) gone on to 4 year colleges. It would be a shame to see this program go.

I was a part of this amazing program for 3 years. It’s where I met my core group of friends and was properly set up for high school. The staff truly cares about this program and the kids in it. Helping them strive to be the best both in academics as well as within themselves. Any other sight would not have the same system and support that was as good as EMS. There’s a reason why it’s only at EMS. So keep it that way.

GEMS has been a great influence for my child. Lake Elsinore needs to find ways to grow as City. Taking opportunities to excel away from our children means we accept less than our potential.

My son participated in the GEMS program on a transfer. He has made tremendous progress, made great friends, participated in school activities, and has been on honor roll all 4 semesters he has attended. I would hate to have other kids not have this great opportunity that my son has been given.

Our son was a GEMS transfer student. His experience there was priceless. Middle school is such a difficult time, so having a program where students can excel and share a common goal of success with their peers is incredible. To limit this because of demographics is unfair, especially since so many local high schoolers request intradistrict transfers based on their involvement in an extracurricular activity opposed to acedemia. Please keep GEMS open to the whole community.

The only reason we came back to the LEUSD was for this program. We will go back to home schooling if this happens.
