Native wildlife is not an inconvenience that you can just kill. You don't have the right. If you don't like the wildlife that has eveolved over centuries in their habitat, YOU move!

This is very wrong. These geese do not deserve to die just because a few people don't find their prescence enjoyable. These geese are native to the US and DESERVE to live and raise their young without this kind of atrocity being done to them! The BOD of Shannon Lake need to get a life and do what is right. This is animal abuse, pure and simple! And I am writing as someone who was president of a HOA.

I strongly urge you to reconsider your plan to control the goose population at Shannon Lake by shooting! It is my understanding that local residents have volunteered to fund an alternative method IN ITS ENTIRETY. This would solve the overpopulation issue in a humane way, rather than the proposed method which is anything BUT humane. The cruelty of shooting individuals and having the survivors watch their family units die painful unnecessary deaths. There is also the issue of the noise and danger associated with a shooting method of elimination. PLEASE avail yourselves of the alternative methods provided, and the funding offered to solve this issue in a safe, humane way. Thank you for taking the time to read my comments. there are much better ways of dealing with this problem, ask Gaston County about all their furious citiens. Killing Geese is not the answer..

In the New York City area public information -- and public outrage -- halted plans to kill geese in many localities in the past couple of years -- Scarsdale, Town of North Hempstead to name a couple. The public does NOT want this done for the most part, only a small selfish, ignorant and intolerant group of the public.
