So what we're teaching future generations is that if a family of living beings is inconvenient, just kill them. Our children our watching and taking note regarding how we handle situations. If someone is offering good rational alternatives to killing this family of geese, why not take them up on it??
This is common sense. You have a member of the community ready and willing to pay for this entire thing and yet you think shooting the geese is the right way to control the population. There are other options. TAKE THE OTHER OPTION! Save the geese!!
I am an avid hunter of waterfowl, turkey and deer and I still do not agree with the mass killing of these geese. If this would be considered legal, then what is the difference between this and poaching deer? I don't agree with either one.
Shooting them is not the right thing to do. I worked for a company that had ponds on the property. They hired someone that left border collies on the property which solved the problem. A much more humane thing to do.
Please spare the lives of these misunderstood wonderful birds, we need to find a way to coexist with nature. A fence around the lake would help. The pond that I live on has a fence that really does not obstruct the view and the geese do not come on the property.

Slaughtering geese that wll only just be replaced by more is not going to work. It's inhumane to kill off these families of birds. Find better ways to cohabitate! Don't take the quick, ineffective fix!

I am from long SC families, and we don't do this. It is baby season. The birds think they are safe with you! Place them elsewhere. Do NOT kill these family geese!!! Thank you for not shaming our state.
