So, they would find out that Ryan is alive, right? And how many followers of Strauss and Joe Carroll are still alive and could they resume their plans? And Eliza, who does she work for, anyway? 'The Following' had everything to continue for several seasons of excellent level, as were the three that were produced. It would be great if some streaming service decided to resume this fantastic series. Come back, 'The Following'!

I think The Following just came out at the wrong time. The last couple of years true crime documentaries and shows have been very popular. I think its the perfect time to bring it back with season 4.

There is an insane amount of depth/emotional pain from Ryan Hardy that I haven't seen in ANY other character in any other tv show/movie.
Going off on a rant, but people were pissed at this show because the FBI/Law Enforcement in it weren't superhumans who could instantly stop any threat, even though they did solve a lot of things, such as figuring out Sam Lewis' other name is Theo Noble, or tracking down Daniel Monroe who lived off the Grid. Law Enforcement is not perfect and mostly doesn't capture their targets right away: just look at the Chris Dorner manhunt and the Boston Bombers.
I get the impression that people call the attacks that Joe's followers carried out ridiculous/unrealistic. ISIS members/sympathizers carried out as much attacks as Joe's two cults did, and killed more people on average per attack as compared to what Joe did.
