I grew up in the IV; I don't live there anymore but I know the Valley needs a place like this. It's not just a play place, it offers so much more for kids as well as parents. It's a shame that it doesn't qualify for the grant so that's why I'm signing this petition. Everyone needs a second chance.

Please keep The Family Treehouse open it is a great place for kids and family and it is the only places where we parents can take our children at a very young age where that can have educational needs meet even at the youngest stages of development. Closing it would be such a great loss for our community since it allows our children to have positive activity in a safe environment. We need to start our children on a good foot and the best time to start is now versus waiting until they are old enough to participate in other community activities.

Temperatures in the Imperial Valley easily reach 120 during the Summer. There is almost no indoor air conditioned space for young children to play without risk of sunburn and heat stroke. A rich learning and exercise space like this is vital to the minds and bodies of the children of Imperial. Please find a way to keep this place open!

I don't know how my family would ever survive a summer without the Family Treehouse:( I really hope something can be done and we can turn things around for the sake of our kids, present and future generations. Also for the sake of this desert, barren of resources indeed! This would be a huge step back for the Imperial Valley, keeping in mind how we are so limited on early intervention, prescreenings, and overall fun facilities, where our kids can play and learn. It would be very unfortunate and just...sad.

The family tree house is crucial to our whole county there is no other resource as this. My family would have been clueless to my Son's autism diagnosis if the director Rosy Nava wouldn't have referred us to San diego regional center for an evaluation. Even though we were in denial for 2 years when We finally realized autism was indeed a posibility we knew what to do. The family tree house has also helped families who have been separated by Child protective services or through parent divorce to have a safe, fun, relaxed atmosphere to reencounter with each other through difficult times of separation. In addition,The family tree house also helped us have a nonjudgmental place to take our son during his hardest times of socialization during his early years. The staff especially the special education interventionist guided our family when we had no other services. They were a great support system when I was at my lowest fighting for my son's academic and social integration. Please ask yourself who else will link parents to resources In the community. Where are we suppose to take our children when we can not afford part time preschool even less full-time preschool? The whole education system is messed and it would be devastating to the entire imperial county to have the family tree House's doors closed forever with no alternative for early childhood education and community resources for special education.

My daughter grew-up at the FTH. Thanks to the FTH she was ready for Kinder and yet to this day she loves going back there to keep learning on a fun way specially during summer, away from the heat.
