Keeping this a state park is the only way to ensure it remains a viable part of learning about California's history.

I grew up near the empire mine, and learned so much visiting as a child. It would be a shame to see it sold.

Empire Mine is a very significant piece of local history, as well as state and national history. Selling this park would be horrible.

Not only does Empire Mine provide educational opportunities for local and statewide students but also provides out town guests an opportunity to experience the richness of our history. There are seasonal celebrations held here (Thanksgiving/Santa) and trails go for miles, used by equestrian enthusiasts and hikers. A private owner? I don't think so.

This place has a lot of family history and to the Grass Valley community. My Great Grandfather James Heathers was a miner at the Empire Mine and it would be said to see any part of the park desiccated.
