RYE'S READ SANCTUARY NEEDS YOUR HELP - PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION IN SUPPORT OF KEEPING OUR CURATOR POSITION!

Read Wildlife Sanctuary and five Westchester Nature Centers are facing a crisis that needs your immediate attention.

County Executive Astorino's proposed budget includes firing all curators, including the Read curator, Michael Gambino.

If the Board of Legislators does not restore these positions, these parks will deteriorate very quickly.

THE CURATOR POSITIONS ARE ESSENTIAL

The Read curator maintains the grounds with the help of volunteers, runs educational programs for children and adults, mows lawns, weeds the forest areas, maintains the trails, cuts down dead trees, cleans the beaches, designs educational exhibits, and much more.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE - write, email, visit your legislator, testify at the Board of Legislators hearings (dates, times and locations are listed below). Please also enlist your family and neighbors.

Below are the dates for the upcoming public hearings on the Westchester County Budget. The first hearing is on Thursday this week.

Note: Public Hearings are scheduled for 7pm. Doors open at 6:00pm.

Numbered speaker cards will be given out at 6:15pm. Only one speaker card per person shall be given out.

Speakers shall be limited to three minutes. Anyone may submit a written statement in advance which will be included in the record.
