Greetings,
We, a group of constituents of Ramallah city, are writing this plea letter to your institution - being one of the major donors of Ramallah Municipality - in order to kindly ask you to support our pledge to stop the brutal killing of the dogs in Ramallah.
Ramallah Municipality is implementing a systematic killing of dogs in the city by gun shooting and/or poisoning. We perceive this as an unethical and cruel act against the innocent lives of dogs. The locals documented and taped several incidences where dogs were being shot and left to bleed to death for hours in the streets, or were even being poisoned and thus endured a prolonged and painful death. In some cases, the puppies were left behind the deceased mother. This irresponsible action has a negative environmental impact on endangered species as the poisoning has also unintentionally killed other animals and birds, including foxes, cats, crows, eagles and hawks.
Violence breeds nothing but more violence. We strongly believe that there are humane approaches to the problem of stray dogs that have been implemented around the world and proved to be successful including the development of animal shelters and implementing neutering programs.
Our attempts to stop the killing of dogs have not been any fruitful. Several community members contacted the Municipality and unfortunately, the council members are persistently turning a blind eye to the killing of dogs.
We trust that your institution respects and values all forms of life, and has zero tolerance towards violence against living beings. We highly appreciate your ongoing financial support for Ramallah Municipality and are confident that your generous pledged donation and joint projects can considerably influence the Municipality’s actions and contribute to bringing about a time when there is no more killing of dogs in Ramallah.

Seeing this much energy behind the cause is honestly overwhelming because for so long it felt like we were shouting into a void about the cruelty happening to these animals. It is a weird mix of relief and renewed urgency now that we have people watching because we finally have the leverage to demand real accountability from those donors.

I really need everyone to send this link to a few people now because we are just shy of a hundred signatures and the donors are totally going to notice when that number ticks over. It feels like we are barely scratching the surface of what these poor dogs need but a hundred signatures is a solid start for us to actually get a meeting with the money people.

There is going to be a trap, neuter and return (TNR) project with Ramallah Municipality, which is similar to the Turkish model, which we hope will solve the problem of stray dogs. We are hopeful this model can be adopted by other municipalities and local councils.
GOD-willing, very soon the very best and enforceable animal welfare laws and regulations shall become prevalent throughout the world. May GOD-ALMIGHTY save animals from the horrors of human induced abuse, cruelty, torture, and unjustifiable neglect, and habitat destruction.

Please do it . I went by myself to Jericho municipality and talked by phone to Nablus Municipality and explained to them that what they do is a crime and that I will contact donors to show that these people do not deserve their donation.
