（檳城30日訊）世界獸醫組織（WVS）首席執行員盧克甘貝說，盡管該組織需要6個月時間籌備及獲得大馬獸醫局批准後方能為檳城狗隻注射狂犬病疫苗，但實際上只要準備就緒，相信只需6週時間，就能為檳州70%流浪狗注射疫苗。 他昨晚出席世界獸醫組織與保護流浪狗的非政府組織對話會後的記者會上說，要把疫苗帶入我國須獲中央政府獸醫局的允准，加上需時擬出執行機制，預計耗時3至6個月。 擁99.9%抗體 在進行注射疫苗期間，他們需要150至200名志工，在分為8至10組工作隊伍後展開工作。 他說，每隻狗兒疫苗注射開銷約3至4美元，在這計劃下的開銷估計300萬令吉。在注射疫苗後，狗兒可擁有99.9%抗體。 他繼說，除了注射工作，他們也會通過工作隊伍教育民眾認識狂犬病，包括仿效非洲和印度把狂太症納入學習綱要，進入學校教育老師與學生，此項延續性計劃料要3年時間。 他說，該組織曾在全球多國採用的大規模疫苗注射方案已證實有效，狗隻注射疫苗後，將帶上顯著的牌子，甚至裝上定位裝置，以便日後追蹤。 他也說，那些佩戴檳島市政廳發出狗牌的家犬不會被人道毀滅，但如果家犬被懷疑染上狂犬病，獸醫局有權隔離狗隻。 他也希望大家不要在狂犬病上製造恐慌，狗與狗之間的接觸如舔、爪等，只要沒有傷口，感染狂犬病病毒的機率就不高，不要把這些狗兒視為“恐怖分子”。 由於州政府表明在等待疫苗期間，將繼續執行人道毀滅流浪狗措施，昨晚的對話會，不少愛狗一族都對這宣佈感到擔憂，他們擔心不少流浪狗未等到疫苗就已被了斷生命，有者甚至說目前已有人採取“私刑”私自毒殺狗兒。 （光明日報）
