Getting closer to a trout kill. Very low water release and reservoir almost full. We need the water !

I am a resident of Albany, NY. My grandparents, Sandra and Vaughn Karcher, have provided my mother, aunt an uncle with amazing memories along the Delaware river as well as myself, my brother and our cousins. Many great memories have been spent on and by the Delaware...its importance expands beyond Delaware County.

The cold water habitat is suffering in the upper Delaware due to low water conditions despite near-full reservoirs. This has a direct effect on the local economy of the region and the life of the habitat. "Let the river flow."

There's a litany of watersheds in the United States with integrated release management - ones that both protect the fishery and maintain public safety and welfare in regards to reservoir levels. One such system needs to be put in place on the Upper Delaware system. Local businesses and hardworking residents are suffering, and the ecosystem at large is in dire straits. It's time for a change.

I have been coming to the Catskills for eight years to fish the Delaware system. I spend a lot of dollars in the four weeks there. No water, no fish, no $$$'s. Please do some releases, thanks.
