It probably wouldn't hurt anybody to release more water when the temperatures are in the 80's and 90's. The river system is too great of a resource!

Sir/Madam,
I do not live near the Delaware River system. However, every day I think about the legacy, quality and hopes that this river system provides as a cherished resource. Please release more water to the ecoystem, citizens and surrounding towns to realize the potential of this gem within the Catskills.

I agree w/ Al Conklin above RE; silt in upper WB. Places that were deep the year after the big flood are silt/sand bars now. I disagree RE; hatches. The hatches are terrible on all branches of the D.

Please release more water on the delaware. This pathetic release is killing fish and wildlife in the river.

Bugs and Ice - was there last week - hatches were lowest I can ever remember - keep in mind that the flow most of the winter was 1/2 of the current flow- there was most certainly anchor ice in the areas of bug populations. I am also sure that many redds were compromised as the water flows during brown trout spawning and rainbow trout spawning were much higher than the 160cfs in the spring and the 82 cfs that was in effect most of the winter. I walked from the dream catcher upstream to the barking dog and was constantly in silt from ankles to in some cases knees- all eroded top soil. At the same time last week (ran into John at west br) East br, Beaverkill and mainstem hatches were ripping.Caucci had a blurb indicating that the ice didn't impact bugs. here is a study from Colorado that makes more sense to me. Any thoughts?? I can't find anyone that wants to talk about the issues- Plummer, Serio, DEC????
