The only inconsistency here are NCC’s claims to be regenerating our CBD and entertainment precincts while simultaneously shutting down or heavily restricting businesses that provide services and opportunities for locals as well as visitors to the area. If they want more car parks, provide more. The recent closure and sell off of the Railway Street carpark provided residents and patrons car park spaces but receive no council push back because of the money they’ll no doubt gain from developers building more housing... which requires more parking again!
A review into the infrastructure development of the city is needed, not the continued heat put on local businesses and local people using the area for how it was designed.

The WIA crew have created a welcoming unique environment and their deck is a feature that is apart of that which makes them a spot to visit in Newcastle on Darby Street! Instead of denying business owners who are out to have a go and thinking outside of the box let’s promote them!

Leave the deck it’s no different to the other cafes along darby street using the path/ walkway out the front of their shops for seating! Or give it 6 months and if people complain then take it down
