I had the time of my life performing with Curtain last summer. It was an opportunity to entertain others and form friendships that will last my whole life. Curtain has produced free art for the public for so many years and the idea of taking that away from the artists and the public is unfathomable.

Mill Valley is incredibly fortunate to have the historic Old Mill Amphitheater. The Curtain productions are tailored to celebrate the park - free and open to all, unamplified, joyous and beautiful. To kill performances on the stage would be a serious blow to the city’s cultural life.

The Curtain Theatre is a great contributor to the cultural life of not only Mill Valley and Marin County, but the entire Bay Area. People come from all over the Bay Area to see and perform in their productions. I have been an actor in and audience member of Curtain Theatre productions, and I can unequivocally state that it is one of the great theatre companies in the Bay Area. Please do not curtail or limit the Curtain Theatre's residency in Old Mill Park for its rehearsals and performances. If you do, you will be doing a great disservice to everyone who enjoys attending and performing in Curtain Theatre productions, and to the cultural life of the Bay Area as a whole. Thank you.

Free full productions of Shakespeare’s plays are a rare thing, and Curtain Theater gives everyone a chance to come out to the grove in Old Mill Park and picnic, bring their children, bring the dog. For some it is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and for others, it may spark the beginning of a lifelong love affair with theater. Curtain Theater’s Free Shakespeare is a beautiful, fantastic, fun, unique gift to Mill Valley.
