Save The Confederate Monuments
Despite their historical value and their importance to many members of society, multiple states are removing monuments and statues that are perceived as associated with the former Confederate States of America. The Confederate States was formed just before the beginning of the American Civil War -- which took place over 150 years ago. Deciding now to remove statues and monuments due to their being "offensive" is nothing short of ludicrous. As they're removed, we're losing vital parts of history, not to mention Southern Pride. I know that they should be preserved to teach future generations, and to be appreciated by the people who understand what was the Southern Cause.
I hope that this petition will gain signatures, which may be able to convince politicians to reconsider their actions. I know that to many people, these memorials are important, whether you agree with the Confederacy's reasoning or not. Historians, Rebels, and everyone else who cares - let's team up by signing and make this happen!
