I have played hockey since age 4 and now play for the Hull Pirates and without the skating coaches I wouldn't be where I am now

How are skaters meant to improve if there are not the coaches to teach them? There is a lot of emphasis on people of all ages keeping fit, and skating is a fun way to go about getting that fitness. Please don't take the coaches away from the Hull Ice Arena. Stop picking on easy targets as a way of saving money. :o(

Without the coaches these kids will not get the information they need to learn I took my nephew there for a summer camp once and he learnt so much in that week it's unreal

Adrian Jack has been my coach for the last year and a half and is now no longer able to coach at the rink. He has coached hundreds over the years,many of whom have gone on to play professional hockey. To say I am gutted that he will no longer be at the rink is an understatement. You should do your upmost to keep the best coaches and the council IMO have got this decision totally wrong.

Never been to Hull ? there's never enough Coaches for the Sport . More Skaters need Coaches when Learning to Skate a Higher Level ?

My three boys have all been coached by one who has lost his job and now my youngest has no coach after 11 years of him producing three incredible hockey players. The rink is going backwards not forwards with this poor decision

Real shame that the council have done this. How are such a small number of coaches meant to cover twice as many students when many were already working full time.
Forced lack of coaching to drive away business and finally justify a reason to close down the rink?
Or maybe with City of Culture just around the corner they thought, hey we don't already have enough train wrecks in the city -better get another sorted!

Absolutely disgusting.. My daughter has a private coach and has done from being 7 she's now 12 and are you going to reimburse us the amount of money we have spent on her lessons.. Just so you can make some cuts.. And also make her coach redundant.. It's absolutely ludicrous wasn't there supposed to be a new rink getting built a few months ago.. Typical Hull City Council say 1 thing do another.. City of culture my arse.. Council of vultures more like

we had that problem at Gosport ice rink wen planet ice put up their fees for the coaches from one skating nanna good luck xxx
