My daughter has been skating since she was 2years old and now at the age 8 how do I break this news to her?!?

Kids and adults can enjoy ice-skating you have to keep a good fitness level to do most sport this is no different but you need to be taught what mistakes not to make the coach can teach you that and lessen injuries.

I'm in full support of this petition. My five year old has been training with Leanne McDonald who is an outstanding coach. Before training with Leanne my daughter could not skate at all and not she is at Level 2. Also none of the other coaches could fit my daughter in so I'm positive that going from 7 coaches to 3 will make the situation worse. Sort your self out Hull Ice Arena and put the community first and not your pockets.

Excellent coaches lose their jobs, will be revoking daughters membership, stinks of running it into the ground. The only etiquette and proffessionalism on the ice has now gone. Enjoyment and dreams of young kids shattered in what can only described as underhand and hidden agendas.

I have skated at hull rink for almost 9 years. Taking part in most areas, hockey, figure, dance and synchro. I have many memorys, many achievements. My highest personal achievement taking a gold medal in the adults British championships. With these changes it ends all of it. The relationship between coach and pupil is not something that can be gained overnight, it is built over much time (and many bruises).

We should be encouraging kids in to any kind of sport / hobbies not taking things they enjoy away from them ........

These coaches do a wonderful job engaging with local youngsters to take part in an Olympic sport with a very proud and successful history in this country - they need to be far more pvalued for the huge contribution they make sport and the local community

Not all the coaches are leaving some great coaches are staying. I have visited ice rinks around the country and haven't found one yet that is run like the one in Hull. The rink is divided and it's the children that miss out on opportunities because they are not included for 'political' reasons. The club is run really poorly no accounts are produced and things are not above board. I'm glad NISA has finally taken a stand to sort out the child protection issues and make sure that our children are taught by coaches that understand safeguarding. This doesn't apply to all the coaches who have lost their jobs but every one of them should protect the vulnerable children they work with. I don't accept the things that have gone on at the rink and I will not as a parent capitulate and stay quiet for fear of being threatened. Freedom of speech allows me to have my own opinion and that is this.... Reinstate the coaches that safeguard our children but keep the rest away and thank you for making the rink a safer place.

Two of my granddaughters skate at this rink and have already had one excellent coach taken away from them so can someone please tell me what they are supposed to do now. One granddaughter is supposed to be taking tests soon and how can she with no coach.

My friends daughter has spend my hours practicing and entering competitions in a sport she loves and enjoys but if the coaches loose their jobs all that stops. I
