Shame on you council, this decision is not even about saving money they are self employed coaches. We are a skating community not a business to be restructured. The plan is to drive the arena to closure it's obvious.

I used to figure skate at Hull arena when I was a young girl. I went on to have a successful career in iceskating , travel the world doing it . I am now a mum with two children who started skating in January this year . My children adore the sport along with lots of the children . I feel The loss of the coaches is detrimental to my children and the youth and citizens of Hull and surrounding areas . I feel this has not been a well thought out plan , and I'm intrigued to know how the powers be arrived at the decisions they have made regarding the three remaining coaches . I want to say more but I don't have the time. What a sad sorry state of affairs this is .

Just joined the synchro team to be told i may lose this opportunity to work with a great coach and some great skaters, it makes no sense to lose the only coach at the rink with so many varied qualifications, and so much to offer.

City of Culture, you are having a laugh! More cuts at the Ice Arena, a gem of a resource under funded by the council for years . My daughter has coaching there & loves it, spend some of the 'culture' funds on this excellent community centre!

Skaters need their coaches to inspire and support them. Making coaches redundant is crazy especially if demand is there.

This is absurd. Youngsters. Adults and over 65s benefit from this sport. A council`s duty is surely to facilitate and encourage healthy lifestyles in safe environments. As well as the opportunity for personal development and excellence. Ice skating needs to be taught on a regular basis to develop all skill levels, a healthy strong body and an alert brain. Only a coach can do this for a skater. Skating around the rink in circles without much skill is great fun for a while for some. But. a rink is far more than a place for simple fun. As in all sports health and safety is a serious issue and on ice is taught by a coach. Reducing the number of coaches does not make sense. Invest in your rink. Please dont deplete it.

It's terrble for council even thinking about this. My Grandaughter has skating lessons at Jill ice arena and she loves it. Please don't reduce the coaches.
