The recent floods in Grafton have caused some serious damage to the Clarence River banks. This natural disaster is unfortunately being blamed on the waterski and wakeboarding community. We must show that we are a self regulated community who take pride in treating the river with as much care and sensitivity as any local resident. By signing this petition, you are showing your support for preserving the right to watersports (waterskiing, wakeboarding, jetskiing, etc) on the Clarence River, NSW, Australia.
I really need people to dig deep and get this link out to their group chats because watching the signature count climb is exciting but we need more momentum to prove our point to the council. It is exhausting seeing them blame our boats for the bank erosion when we are actually the ones out there cleaning up the debris after the floods so maybe if we hit that next big number today they will finally listen.

I really did not think people would see it this way but now my phone is buzzing constantly and it makes me think maybe they really cannot blame us for the banks slipping. It is funny how things move so fast when you just put your thoughts down on a screen even though I still have total brain fog from staring at the river maps for hours.

So sick of people scapegoating skiers. It was a massive flood not a wakeboarder that tore up those banks. Keep it open.

Ban the boats and you kill the local businesses too. Think about the town.

My family has been skiing here for years. We always respect the water and the banks. Dont punish us for a weather event.

Ridiculous to blame boaters for flood damage. Nature did that. Leave the river open!
