Celery fields should be left alone. This pristine land is home to many birds and wildlife that should not be disturbed. Where do you suppose the people of our city will go to enjoy these lands when developers are given priority? Leave Celery Fields alone.

The county did a great disservice by selling four acres to James Gabbert for his "transfer facility."
County owned "surplus" lands surrounding the Celery Field should never been up for consideration for either a recycling center or Restaurant Depot.
These poor decisions made by the Planning Board and County Commissioners based upon business friendships and backroom deals must be prevented.
Sarasota's county's zoning guide states: “ZONING’S FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE IS TO PROTECT A COMMUNITY’S HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE,” Sarasota's current planning board members and county commissioners' are failing to do this.
In addition to the above infraction, our Planning Board broke Sarasota County Charter rules by pushing the Restaurant Depot rezone petition and all voting in favor for this rezone to be presented to the county commissioners' for a vote.
Neighborhoods, property values, eco-protection of the Celery Field, all of this must be protected from further damage by crappy county planning and back room deals.

There are too few, and ever fewer, safe places for the incredible bird species that live and nest in Florida. It is imperitive that we protect these habitats.

Please don't let this happen, at the present time, Sarasota residents are being asked to give up too much space for too little in return. The Celery Fields are a respite for all of us, birds and wildlife included. Please focus on making Sarasota better, not worse and more noisy and crowded. Thank you

Please don't let the recycling plant be built at the Celery Fields. It is so beautiful and we need the birds and the clean water. Don't destroy this, please.

Seriously? Next to a bird-sanctuary and a beautiful walking/hiking park? Let's just call this one a bad idea, reject it, and move on to better things.

Please do not add to the already scary number of pollutants in the air, water and soil. This plant does not justify the damage that will be irreversible.

I beg you not to destroy the bird sanctuary which the recycling plant would surely do. The celery fields are a beautiful nature sanctuary much closer to us than having to drive out to Myakka State Park. As a disabled person I value the close proximity of the celery fields bird sanctuary.

Celery is more important. Birds are more important. Find a place not occupied by both.

This land, already owned by the county, should be preserved to create a wildlife habitat buffer or additional Park area. We will need it as development increases around the celery fields.
