The Cask Inn is officially off the market and staying as a pub. We held the line against the developers and won because you stepped up to demand protection for our local space. Keep your eyes on the site for local events as we transition back to business as usual.
Star Pubs & Bars (Heinekin's property group) have announced that they intend to market the Cask from the 8th January. There is no guarantee that any purchaser would keep the pub going or if they'd knock the whole thing down and build flats.
We object to the sale of the pub with no conditions of sale that the pub business (which is in itself sucessful) is protected.
The scale of this response confirms that the Cask Inn is the heart of our community. Email your local council representative today to demand they block the sale. Send this link to three people who live in the neighborhood right now.

We are approaching 500 signatures and need a final push to hit this landmark before we take our demands to Star Pubs. Text three friends the link right now and ask them to sign. Post the petition to your Facebook page to make sure our pressure remains visible.

I am a alcholic but have not had a drink for 10 years now. The Cask is the only place i know which sells Heineken !!0!! on draught. It has a friendly atmoshere and the is no stigma attached to me or others who are in the same position i am in.

We simply cannot lose the cask. It's the beating heart of grassroots live music in Scarborough, and a vital pub in the south cliff area where we have now lost the majority of our public houses. Save the Cask!

As a longtime supporter of the Cask and Scarborough Jazz I am sad that it should come to an end. I would buy shgares in a community Enterprise if such were formed to purchase the Cask and keep it going...

This lovely pub was my first night out when I moved from Birmingham to Scarborough 8 years ago, I now live in Whitby but still frequent the premises monthly for the Northern Soul nights, I also held my wedding reception at The Cask.

I have been visiting Scarborough for many years with my friend and we always visit the Cask Inn. It is a great community pub, that also attacks Holiday makers and day trippers. If the pub closes the town will lose the money we also spend at accommodation and also other bars and restaurants.
