I have written to each of the Commissioners and expressed my views to please Save these Trees and the Firestone Building! Plenty of derelict and abandoned buildings just a little further down South Monroe that can re reused. Also would be to help revitalize the Southside. Keep the Cascades Park a park!

Please keep Tallahassee beautiful. We love our trees. Personally, I'd move back to an urban city if I wanted these changes. Born and raised Tallahassee Lassie, moved back home for the trees and the peace. Leave us be.

These trees are a huge part of what makes Tallahassee, and Florida, so special. Save them, and 86 the unaffordable apartments.

The Canopy is part.of the history and beauty of Tallahassee and Northern Florida. Surely there is a way to work around these beauties. Soon there will be nothing left except another generic looking city with no character. Don't let that happen on your watch.

If those responsible for the possible destruction of these trees care about Tallahassee they will NOT allow this to happen!

At a time when our environment is under siege from all sides we need to preserve what we have left, not for us but for our children and our grandchildren. Please do not let development in the so called name of "progress" rob our children of their birthright. I don't know the origin of the quote, but to paraphrase from my Uncle A.C. Williams, "we do not own this land but are stewards of it for our children. What do you wish to leave your children concrete and asphalt? I'd prefer to leave mine clean air, clean water, trees and grass and a piece of ground to walk on that's not covering a garbage dump.

Tallahassee is diminished with each majestic oak that is cut down.

Keep this treasure. This city boasts about its natural splendor and to have the city waste this beautiful plot of live oaks, which are dwindling within the city, is a complete shock to me. Having been a resident in this beautiful city I find this completely unacceptable.

We don’t need a new “brand”. Tallahassee has always been known for its beautiful trees. It’s one of the things that sets us apart from the rest of the state.

These trees--and what they represent--are part of Tallahassee's past and future! Why would you even consider having these trees paved under???

Haven’t we taken enough from nature? Aren’t the mudslides in California teaching us anything?
