The small dogs NEED this, you have a few dog walkers bringing 10/15 dogs at a time and don't even look after all their dogs and when they come in the park they attack the dogs. It's not safe for my small dogs to go anymore, this is so disheartening

I come to the park multiple times with my 20lbs beagle/ jack russell mix and am extremely saddened over the closing. I took my dog to the big park this morning and all he did was try to hide from the big bully dogs. In the small dog park he was so happy and social and made so many small dog friends. Very upsetting and disappointed over this, especially because of ALL the space the veterans have, did they need to take this small park away? Were the small dogs really causing that much disturbance? I just don't understand. Please save the small dog park so my dog can see his friends again!

It simply does not make sense to have a dog park without a separate section for smaller dogs to play safely. The very first time I ever took my dog Charlie to the dog park in Brentwood, I mistakenly took him into the large dog side. In just this one occasion of going to the large dog side, Charlie was attacked. He suffered some wounds on his head and neck, but was very lucky as things could have ended up far worse. It was a very traumatizing experience and we have not returned to the large dog side since.
On the other hand, we have been going to the small dog side of the park regularly for the past two and a half years, as I have complete peace of mind when we are there. I would take Charlie there several times a week so he could socialize with other dogs and get his exercise. Closing the small dog section of the dog park means there is no longer a dog park for Charlie, as well as hundreds of other smaller dogs in our community.
Since you plan to keep the large dog side of the dog park open, please help us find some sort of solution to have an area that is sectioned off for the smaller dogs. Thank you.

As a local dog trainer I feel it is important that small dogs have a separate area to run and play at a public dog park away from larger dogs.

There are plenty of vets with dogs who use the park daily. The city's keeping a small dog area for at least 15 years shows they are aware that small dog areas are necessary for the safety of all the dogs and even people.

The small dog park was introduced for a reason, to help keep small dogs safe. It's ridiculous to expect that nothing will go wrong if you combine the parks.

There's more than enough room for them to allocate a portion of the space for the small dogs. SAVE THE SMALL DOG PARK!!

Little dogs need to be protected. Not all people are responsible with the pets they bring to the dog park and an aggressive large dog could easily kill or mangle a small dog.
