Sheriff Hollywood Joe Guy has harassed this place for years to get on the news. I have so many good memories here and this personal campaign against the only place in Athens to go swimming is ridiculous. It's a lake pure and simple. We don't require lifeguards at any other lake in the state. Drownings happen at higher rates all over East Tennessee and we don't demand the lakes be shut down by twra or tva. Those lakes charge entry fees as well even though the water isn't chlorinated and there are no lifeguards. This entire personal vendetta by the MCSD is ridiculous. As to alcohol use, it is 100% completely legal to drink on private property or on any public waters in the state as long as you aren't operating a boat. So, hogwash! Does he sell or give alcohol to minors? No! So, go after the people purchasing alcohol for minors not him for not checking IDs on private property. It is not his responsibility to check everyone's I'd when he doesn't provide the alcohol.

Why is so many people today whiners? Is there an adrenaline rush in fun snatching?? If something isn't your idea of beauty, fun or safety go to what is. Your escape from life may not be someone else's idea of relaxation the way the hideaway cove is. Everybody has different wants, needs and ideas so don't try interfering with mine!!! Live life where you want and I'll enjoy mine while at the cove!!!!

We need this even in the Georgia area. If not people are still gonna go to the hippe hole in Alabama where there been more deaths and it's actually dangerous
