Do NOT replace parking space for this trash compactor. Space is already limited, where are customers supposed to park while they are SUPORTING small businesses? Who by the way, boost revenue for downtown Columbia! Absurd!

Please don't move the trash compactor and recycle bins to this spot. Surely there is a more suitable place to move them.

Please do not take our parking away, it is limited parking already for businesses along that street.

Quit limiting the parking space and adding more dumpsters. They are unsightly and interfere with the businesses in the area such as the Beach Salon

There has to be a better place to relocate these things, or leave them where they are.

The city of Columbia needs to start caring more about small businesses. Taking away multiple parking spaces from an area with already limited parking is a bad idea. Not to mention the eyesore that would be created by putting a dumpster right there. Come on, city of Columbia, be smarter than that.

Whenever I’m in that area of town I love looking at the little garden. It’s always a quick reminder of life in the middle of the city.

How is it that The Beach Salon Hair Sylists’ can lose their parking when they pay a more than reasonable fee for their parking area? Especially without even being considered in the decision to yak it away!!!

I am a customer of The Beach Salon. They have very limited parking and the addition of a recycling receptical would not only take up valued space, it would be a true detriment to the aesthetic appeal to the salon.

Parking is hard enough for these local businesses. Putting this in & taking up space is horrible. Why don’t you wait & put it where Ameren UE used to be. That area is an eye sore enough

As a small business owner in the District I know the challenge of parking for patrons. The “District” has done such a wonderful job of building up the arts district. It would be such a shame to do this to the business owners of this area. The dumpsters are not only eye soarers but are disgusting and create a habitat for rodents and horrible aroma. They are made for the alley ways. Do better than this!

The parking is already so limited in this area it doesn’t make any sense to trade 4 valuable spaces that are used for patrons of businesses for a trash/recycle area that will only hurt the surrounding business. It will decrease safety by being obstacle to auto, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. The loss of the adopt a spot to the trash/recycle area will also be damaging since you’re trading a natural/green space for an eye sore. Who is going to haul their trash and recycling to this location? There’s no safe place to unload without blocking traffic or parking. It’s just a terrible idea all around.
