DELTA'S BAYSIDE CLUB GONE FOREVER

I don't agree with this rezoning application. I've been a member for 19 years and throughout those years the members have provided hundreds of thousands of dollars of revenues into the local economy through this business. I have also seen many other locals use the beach front and come to visit the club as friends of members for socials over the years. The club used to have a thriving juniors program thanks to the Saunders family participation with proper effort of a RESPONSIBLE OWNER, that could be revived again. The more we enrich the community with amenities such as this the better off we all are. . Say yes to keeping the current property zoned commercial. With the development of the Southlands the need for a year-round squash/summer club will be even more pronounced. If you rezone it that that option is gone forever. Say no to this application. There is nothing in it for the community. Greg Condon

this is an old part of Tsawwassen that should be saved for enjoyment of all Tsawwassen people

As a Bayside member, this has generated extra spending in shops and services of an average of $ 60.00 per week into the local Tsawwassen community for me personally over the last 18 year. This mixed activity, beach, sport and social venue has given reason to visit the beach, bicycle, eat and bring out of town guests to Tsawwassen. Living outside the local community in Ladner, it has been a reason to bring guests and visitors from afar in the other direction. Loosing this little revenue anchor will have its incremental affects on many businesses and services in Tsawwassen, not just from me but from the apathy in the young that lack of facilities like this generate.

With all the development going on in Tsawwassen, the Delta Council needs to keep all the recreational properties it possibly can. Especially, properties with water access. Think of the future!

I would hate to see us lose this recreational facility in Tsawwassen. The squash community has a long history in Tsawwassen/Ladner. Lets keep it going.

Why on earth would Delta council even entertain the idea of changing this zoning. With the coming onslaught of the Southlands development the last thing this area needs is more housing.

The Bay needs a recreation spot and the area is perfect as it is isolated from both the US and Delta parks.

We don't need more houses we need more exercise.

This facility has such a strong community that is a great testimony to the area we live in. I also think with Southlands coming this facility has even greater potential to continue to be a great asset to the area.

I miss my community squash club, I miss my squash buddies, I miss Friday's drop in. No playing anymore ... Richmond is a long way to commute.

Tired of driving to Richmond to play squash and miss old friendships. We are losing the soul of our community -- for what?
