The Bolton City Council has officially confirmed that the necessary funding will be provided to secure the future of the BAFCV. This outcome ensures that our veterans continue to receive the support they have rightfully earned. I am deeply appreciative of the backing this project received throughout the campaign.

The Bolton Armed Forces Centre for Veterans was set up by Scott Hawtrey and his partner Cait and is completely funded from their own pockets but they are now in a severe financial crisis, even though they have not paid themselves a wage for 2 years. The Centre provides help and assistance to many of our Veterans in the area, including (but not limited to) housing and financial advice or just providing a sympathetic ear to anyone that needs it with a brew! They are receiving referrals from, not only the local Social services but the police as well and yet Bolton City Council have not provided any grants or funding of any type and this is unacceptable. It has got to the stage now where the Centre may have to close, leaving many vulnerable ex-forces personnel without anywhere to go. We need to get this petition made very public in the hope that this dire situation can be rectified and the Bolton Armed Forces Centre for Veterans to be saved!

We need to keep this open just having somewhere to go to talk makes a huge difference. Especially with a family who understand one military always military and that's what people don't understand unless your a member of this family.
My husband is a veteran who suffers with PTSD so I feel that with the suicide rate of veterans on the increase we have to safe guard these important life saving schemes because it's all that stands between life and death
Being a veteran of the Royal Navy, this is the place for me to meet up with veterans from all walks of life. The place cheers me up when Im feeling low caused by everyday things. The place is the only one in the Bolton area that understands our needs and help.
I use the centre a lot I also bring veterans to the centre to get much needed help at the moment there helping a veteran with housing if it closes he will be homeless
Myself and husband attend this centre and see all the good that it does.It cannot continue without financial help which it is not receiving from the places it should be.Especially Bolton Council.The centre is run by volunteers(unpaid),they are ex forces.They are dedicated to helping veterans in need.
We need this place as a refuge for EX service personnel. Where are we supposed to go now. RETHINK KEEP THE FUNDING

We the veterans of bolton need this centre open... if it wasn't for the centre. I probably wouldn't be alive today... I owe them so much
