The Disc Golf course is a crucial piece of land to the culture and community of Disc Golf. Disc Golf is a low impact physical game or sport approachable by all abilities, ages, socioeconomic statuses, and mobility. The course located here is historic to the development of the game/sport and is World Renowned in the global community bringing in hundreds if not thousands annually to the area. This positively impacts restaurants and hotels and more. Further construction would not only disturb the bustling course, it would further remove green space. This green space is critical to the environment as well as the mental and emotional stability of a continuously urbanized neighborhood. Green space is also essential for children’s development and need to run, play, and be free in a time in which electronic influences are decreasing mobility increasing health risks such as obesity and childhood diabetes. We need to preserve these open spaces already heavily appreciated and certainly enjoyed visually and physically by the community. Please consider the rippling impact today’s decisions have on the future of the neighborhood and community at large.

Our course are getting taken away from us so much these days. La Mirada is a destination course and brings in many people from other regions just to play that course. They use the local accommodations, the go to local eateries, they buy their gas around their, they support the surrounding businesses. Please, please take all of this into consideration before removing something that is so special.

The beauty of the La Mirada Backside course should not be tampered with. Mother Nature would not approve of it and neither would I.

Last year I came all the way from Finland to play this course. I wonder how many international tourists would a maintenance building attract.
