Save the Avenue Centre, Meadow Well, North Shields

I would fully support this development of Cedarwoods work in the community. Over the years they have done so much to improve the lives of the people around them.

Cedarwood have a track record of making a significant difference to the life of residents. The enlarged premises that the current 'Avenue' could supply would mean more people assisted to live more safe, secure and productive lives, which has to be good news for the council and the wider community!

This is a good next step for an important organisation that was set up by North Tyneside Council & Newcastle Diocese in 1980 to be alongside the people of Meadow Well long term.

I believe that this building in needed for the community as there is not enough service in this area i have lived in this area for many years and have seen many changes but all the changes are what the council want and what the community have asked for its about time that the local council listened to the community and what they want for the estate they live in

Where there are fewer health and social care resources there is a great need for places where people can support each other, housing without community will not work well.

Cedarwood do immensely vital work supporting some of the most vulnerable in the community. Their current base is no longer big or practical enough. Moving to the Avenue would be good for Cedarwood and, more importantly, the community.

The avenue is a great and much needed in this community

There is virtually nothing left of places of real value in communities - it takes more than street lights and road signs, a couple of shops and a bus stop. People need to be able to meet, to share thoughts and experiences, and get together for common purposes. Sure, councils are stretched, and charities are struggling, but these places are the life blood of community the world over, and once allowed to slip away, they will never be replaced. Don't let go of them, fight for your community buildings !

We do not need more housing in this area, we need appropriate resources to support the existing residents. At the Avenue centre the Cedarwood trust can achieve this.

A great asset for the community.

If the building is knocked down it is said affordable housing can be built. As one of the local clergy I believe community resources are needed more than housing in this area.

This is a must for the local community.
