Please do not cut these vital programs!

Everything I am is because of my time as a music student at IWC. Music was my chosen profession but I learned so much more. I learned to be positive in my strengths and learn from my weaknesses. I learned how to deal with other people and I learned to follow my passion, no matter the naysayers. I learned to persevere. Burt Mahle, Ruth Keraus, Carl Moehlman, Joel Brown, David File, David Ferrell, all were my teachers, mentors and friends. They pushed me to be better than I knew how to be. This defines the mission of a true liberal arts college and I fear these cuts will hamstring Iowa Wesleyan in this mission.

I loved my high school visits there! Great exsperisnce and my own instructor went to college here!

Class of 1996 BA Elementary Education, not a music major but choir member and took many, many music classes including piano and guitar lessons. I also played for 1 year with the SEISO. These were opportunities that I feel would have not been available to me anywhere else but at IWC. I am saddened to think that many students will no longer have these opportunities.

I was a part of the music programs of the college including 4 years of choir. The classes and prorams I was able to participate in were what kept me going and able to finish my degree in nursing. By being able to immerse myself in the arts as part of my education it gave me a much broader learning experience. Music became my avocation and has been such an imprtant part of my life, whhich I wouldn't have gotten in most schools.

I wasn't a music major but participating in choir was an important part of my IWC experience. The Arts are so important to all esp a Liberal Arts college!

Worried for the future of our college!!

without arts programs, we become a technical or trade school. Learning about the different arts, history, languages is what teaches you how to think for yourself, how to reason --- not how to memorize facts and specific skills good for only one task

You can't call yourself a liberal arts school when you cut the arts program.

Surely IWC's money can be better spent on saving jobs and some or all of its academic programs than by wasting it on a futile attempt to try to be an NCAA Division III athletics school.

This is more than my signature. It is my pledge to bring back the BME.

I am an alumni of IWC! It was the best place close to home for me to get my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Save our School.

This is not a good choice. My daughter was contemplating her college career at Iowa Wesleyan. She is extremely interested in the arts. I am an alumni of Iowa Wesleyan class of 1996. Please don't do this.

IWC's music and art department is the heart of the college. Please keep our teachers.
