As an East Hampton resident for the past 25, I find it horrible how much of the towns history is being destroyed and at the rate at which the town is changing. I'm not against progress however once these types of landmarks are torn down it is impossible to replace and we slowly lose our heritage.

Please preserve this fantastic historic house and our cultural heritage!! The Town of East Hampton's own Plan of Conservation and Development states in the first paragraph: "Much of East Hampton’s community character and quality of life stems from its unique combination of natural, historic, and scenic resources. By protecting these important resources and guiding future development, East Hampton
can maintain and enhance community character and quality of life for generations to come." How can the Town disregard its own stated Plan?
It is critical to protect our history, it is the unique identity that historic homes contribute that maintains our quality of life.

There are very few 18th-century houses still in existence in the United States. History shouldn't be disposable - please save this building from destruction.

It would be an absolute atrocity to tear down one of our few remaining 18th century buildings to build a parking lot! Please please reconsider! These buildings are a nonrenewable resource and essential for maintaining the character and soul of our town!!
