I have attended the presentations given by various representatives of the Chautauqua administration and have come away with the belief that this was a restoration. It was an incredible shock to learn that our beloved amp is to be DEMOLISHED and then reconstructed!!! Why was this not made clear to us at these presentations? And how can the heart of our historic district so touted as being protected under historic preseration rules, be a candidate for demolition???

I love the Amp the way it is. It is used only 9 weeks out of 52 and I think it is fine the way it is. Please don't change it!

I feel they should restore and revitalize the amphitheater not terret down there is no place that has better acoustics than the amphitheater There is no way to replicate those acoustics or the historical significance of that building No way they can replicate those acoustics or that setting

I agree with Ruth Schrek and Scott Aughenbaugh's recent comments that what really needs renovating is the programing in the amphitheater. Why spend $30 million dollars for a new amp if we can't afford to pay our orchestra? Also, Engelbert Humperdinck is about as far from state of the art programming as you can get!
