$30,000,000 could be better spent at Chautauqua. Fix the Amp don't demolish the center piece. History,tradition,memories are better than more revenue. Do you still have a mission statement, have a look at it again might help bring this debate to the right decision. Fix the problem don't make the wrong choice. bigger is not always better. A quality diamond is better than a fake

Chautauqua needs to address other issues before the amp. Community wide Internet would be a great benefit. Newer speakers for us season people rather than the huge number of repeat speakers. Friday night has become very weak with the has-beens hardly standing up let alone performing well. Plus finding or building housing for the less fortunate folks with not enough income to pay for housing.

I love the Chautauqua chautauqua amphitheater as it is now. Fix the dressing rooms as needed, fix the stage as needed but don't destroy the spirit of the amphitheater. It has a life of its own as is!

Maybe the backstage needs a renovation but leave the amp in its current configuration, warts and all. we need side space for social interchange, dancing and sticking a toe in the water of programming we are unsure of. Plus the disruption to Chautauqua will be more brief and less traumatic. Stop trying to refine the anachronistic character out of our Chautauqua.

Tearing down this historical building is a travesty. I have been coming to Chautauqua since I was 6 yrs. old and am now age 65. It is a sacred space and 'beating heart' of the Inst. I am SO HAPPY to hear that there is this group, with Architects who will have a plan to rehab and upgrade! Those wooden benches are part of the charm and history. PLEASE STOP THIS DEMOLITION!!

Chautauqua is a juxtaposition of history and modern thinking at it's finest. To demolish this historic site in favor of some new and improved structure seems very backward thinking. Save the amp!
