We must preserve our history! Rehab is understandable, demolition is not.

The simplicity of the design makes the AMP an important part of the beauty of Chautauqua. The bench seating is a wonderful part of the simplicity!

This part of our history needs to be saved. OMG! To me, it is the heart of Chautauqua! Must be too many 'throw away' minded board members! Wouldn't it be a much better legacy to say ' We saved the Amphitheater' then to say " Yeah, we tore it down, didn't care what the multitudes thought; we just like to rip and tear and make things all coposesetic(spelling ?) Please change your minds!

No reason to demolish this landmark if earmarked funds can preserve. Look at all the buildings in Buffalo that were saved.

Many fond memories of this place while growing up in Jamestown and singing there with the Acapella choir. Still love going there when visiting beautiful Lake Chautauqua..

the Amp is a space made holy by the music, intellect, faith, & spirit celebrated therein for all these years ... It should be preserved as a symbol of all that Chautauqua stands for...

this is a part of Americana. You kept it for over 120 yrs, why get it rid of it now? Lots of great players and legends have performed there! Did they tear down Fenway Park? Nope. Americana. Let it live on.

Please save the Chautauqua Amphitheater. This is a historic place and should not be demolished. Please repair what is necessary, but keep the original building. There is no replacement.

The golden, rounded warmth of the Amp has always been my "Welcome home" and the image I bring to mind the other 51 weeks when I need "sanity and grace" that is Chautauqua to me. This rebuild appears to be yet another over-gentrification that makes it harder for many of us to no longer afford Chautauqua.
