The Thomson Reuters Carrollton office's exercise room is in jeopardy of becoming obsolete. Currently we have yoga, taekwondo and crossfit workouts in that room. In addition, many employees play table tennis in that room.

All of the aforementioned activities are great stress relievers and it’s beneficial to any company that their employees remain fit and healthy. If we lose the exercise room, there will be a lot of unhappy employees.

If the current exercise room is being taken away, please arrange for an alternative on-site location for a new exercise room.

Updates

August 24, 2015

I have been hearing from so many of you about how vital this space is for your daily mental health and fitness. I am currently working on a proposal for an alternative on-site location to present to management so we can keep these programs running.

August 24, 2015

Seeing this level of support confirms that I am not the only one who relies on that room to get through a long workday. It feels good to know that so many of my colleagues value our health and sanity as much as I do.

Imagine how much money is saved in health care cost if all employees were active and lead a healthy lifestyle. An on-site exercise facility should be promoted and encouraged. Everyone wins!

Exercise facilities at the Carrollton complex are badly needed. Our existing workout facility/gym was shuttered 10 years ago or so and now it appears there are plans to close the one room available for exercise. Please make plans to provide larger if not comparable space for these activities as they as so critical in maintaining work-life balance.

This Workout room represents the numerous Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting advertised statements which promotes health and wellbeing for their employees. Taking it out simply appears to go against the health speak at Thomson Reuters, makes no sense. Please don't remove our workout room.

This room is used for numerous employees throughout the company for workout, martial arts, ping pong, & other exercise activities. Please keep this in mind when renovating the area.

0828212 Here's an idea... Why don't they just gut & renovate building E into a full recreation center. They could have basketball courts, weight room, exercise rooms with video/projector, table tennis & pool tables could also be added. As much time as we spend up here, that would be a great place to go without having to leave the campus... Another benefit to this is, if we were able to get a "full gym", hire someone to manage it, TR could save on the funds employees get for gym memberships. Instead, we could join the TR Gym (signing a release, of course), and pay TR for gym membership. Win-Win!!!
