Earlier this year, the city of Indianapolis announced it would be remodeling Tarkington Park to include pet-friendly facilities.For unknown reasons the city has yet to break ground, possibly putting the project on hold. With the ever growing following of football in the Butler-Tarkington area,the Indy Steelers Youth Football program is requesting your signature to support the installation of a public football field on the South end of Tarkington Park. It is our hope that the neighborhood can raise enough signatures to provide the kids with a positive outlet in a rough community.

The city officials are stalling while our kids lose out on a place to play. We are pushing toward 250 signatures to force them to stop ignoring our neighborhood demands. Blast this link to everyone you know right now so we hit that mark and put them on notice.

Community needs to save our youth and keep the parkbthe way it is. My son and his football team practice in this park, if it gets turned unto a dog park how would this save our youth.
This park has been the grounds that the young hard working players have practiced on for ever! The children of the surrounding Neighborhood come to this park for play,and,Basketball! There is nothing for the children to do, so, don't take there park away!
My son has direct contact with this program. Without these men in a lot of these young boys lives it would be more chaos in the neighborhood. My prayer is that you would look past at least a dog park and give these young men a chance to thrive athletically.
Inner city land should be accessible for the children to utilize. It is currently used by kids for its intended purpose. Are you really putting the health of a dog over the health of a human?
Tarkington Park should be a "destination park" for the kids and adults who live within walking distance and cannot get anywhere else. Splash park? Great! Bocce Ball? Not so much. Football and basketball are the sports the kids in the neighborhood play.
I'd rather be around kids over animals.

How do the community leaders complain that the kids are getting in trouble because there is nothing for the kids to do, but they take the park away from them. Someone needs to do something about this!
