Please reconsider - closure rather than growth is not the track to follow to reach prosperity. This is devastating to all staff morale - those who loose their job and those who wonder if they will be next. Stop punishing staff and students for management failures.

A great shame to disband what is an excellent team motivated to getting the best out of their students.

It is obscene to be closing such a vital tool for today's society! This is disempowering younger generations to make political decisions. A horrible thing to do!

Politics graduate here - studying politics gave me an insight into society and power, and also skills as data scientist. Disgusting decision. Staff that have time to focus on teaching are undervalued t the detriment of the university as a whole.
Another self-inflicted injury (to both staff and students in the department) by a university management that can see nothing beyond A level entry grades and the NSS - what goes on between and around those things is the important stuff. This seems a particularly brutal and damaging example of the genre.

More shame for Surrey. Prof. Snowden has obviously decided to leave the sinking ship. Who else will jump with him?
