I think Summa is a great program, but for students that have their friends at this school have to switch schools just to be challenged is unfair.

The only reason I am at highland park is because my twin is in Summa. Most of my friends are in Summa and they talk about how teachers always tell them how special they are. Doesn't it seem a little unfair to take that much time working to create a program and environment for excelling students only to rip it apart because the district is not prepared for the smart students their teaching is supposed to create?

I'm not in the Highland park Summa program, but at the one at Whitford Middle School. Still, I know how we build a community at ours and it sounds the exact same there. I was emailed by my friend who goes to the Highland Park Summa program. On her and many other Summarians' behalf, keep Summa alive!

I’ve never been in summa but I think it’s a good idea for kids who are more advanced to have a chance to learn at a higher level.
