Badger culling should be stopped NOW it is inhuman. We can’t believe we are living in such a barbaric country the way we treat our beautiful animals is discussing. It needs to STOP now if people were to hear the cries and screams of these beautiful harmless animals they would not believe it and some laid in their dens for days suffering and in pain before they died. Even the gassing that this heartless government allows should be BAND!! as well.

The badger cull proved scientifically and financially (not to mention morally) that the cull was an unmitigated disaster. The decent thing for Owen Patterson et al to do now is admit that and go with the vaccination program.

Do we never learn from our past actions? We seem to destroy anything that gets in OUR way. Be it wolves, fox, badgers, and any other bird or animal (or indeed other human beings-think WW1&2) that has the temerity to take OUR food or something else, like land for development, that we want. Animals have rights too. Humans are oimnivores and can eat anything, not just beef. When the whole ecological chain collapses WE can turn to 'synthetic' food - what then do the beautiful creatures of the earth do but all die?

Leave the badgers alone!!! We won't have any wildlife left in this country if Cameron & Paterson get their way.

Stop the culling, they don't deserve this, no animal deserves this.

Vaccination and stricter controls on movement of animals are the way forward not slaughter of our wildlife.

Badgers are a protected species and the cull is both ineffective and inhumane

This must not happen, it just doesn't work and that's a scientific fact.

Our Government is failing us big time; it's not listening and doesn't care... When in doubt of what is motivating them... FOLLOW THE MONEY.

Badgers could easily be vaccinated against TB. Put the vaccine on peanuts or catch them in wire traps and inject them.

NO to culling, it's cruel and unnecessary. So what's wrong with vaccination?

Badger kulls don't make any difference to the spread of bovine TB. This has been a known fact for over 25 yrs. inoculation and education is the way forward and maybe if the government didn't pay farmers large amounts of money for cattle infected as it's known in the farming community that farmers knowingly infect cattle as they get more for TB infected cattle than beef prices slaughtered for food..

Please do not start culling badgers and consider vaccinating them. This cruelty is so wrong.
