On May 1st, 2018 Cartoon Network (CN) released MAJOR SPOILERS for Steven Universe on their OFFICIAL YouTube page. One of the clips shown is likely from one of the last episodes of season 5, or the ending episodes of the entire series, providing fans with all but an outright statement of how the biggest story arc of the show will end.
This is not okay for any show, but it's a particularly heinous error for a show that prides itself on complex world building, with intricately laced hints for theory-crazed fans to identify, dissect, and put back together again.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, by releasing this footage CN has seriously disrespected Rebecca Sugar and the rest of the Crewniverse. Barring learning that Sugar okayed the release of these clips (which is highly unlikely), a network should never reveal a creator's work like this without their consent. My heart goes out to Sugar and her team; this was their story to tell and their network, who ostensibly support them, did not give them that opportunity.
The dedicated fans of Steven Universe request that Cartoon Network issue a formal apology to Rebecca Sugar and the Crewniverse for releasing these spoilers. We request that any and all decisions about when and how all of the available Steven Universe episodes will air on Cartoon Network be relegated to Rebecca Sugar and the Crewniverse.

I'm so sorry Rebecca. No matter what else CN does, I'll still love your show, none of this is your fault!
Mistakes happen, but they've recently spoiled almost every episode, from official accounts, or with officially licensed merchandise. We're not talking about leaks from an unknown source, we're talking about Cartoon Network officially making the same mistakes again and again. It's a sad joke.

For the hard work Rebecca and the Crewniverse puts into this amazing show, CN should definitely pay more respect to them for there incredible work! Love from all the Steven Universe fandom XOXO

Steven Universe is a show whose core values lie in the realm of creating healthy relationships and self-care as well as how to handle/acknowledge unhealthy relationships. It's worth more than what CN gives it and let's admit it....CN only cares about hyper-shallow shows like Teen Titans Go. Steven Universe and the crewniverse deserve better!
