As a parent whose bus service will be taken away, I feel it is a shame that the district isn't prioritizing student health and safety. Image walking 1.8 miles each way with a heavy instrument and backpack in 100 degree heat. Thank goodness we have some fancy scoreboards, though!

Keep the bus routes

If you are going to cut buses, you are going to need to add more crossing guards. Children are crossing wide streets in the dark. This is making for a dangerous situation. Not worth the money the district is saving.

As a parent with Special Needs I can’t believe with the taxes we pay in Austin/TX, that cutting this service is even an option!

I agree! I don’t want my 6th grader taking such a long walk on Quinlan Parkway to middle school

This is a much needed service for the safety of our children. How do we always get the shaft from the district?

Not only has it been a selling point for the section of Steiner we live in; but also it’s a safety issue. Quinlan Parkway is a very dangerous road. Accidents are a regular occurrence on it. Speeding and running red lights are the main cause. Adding more foot traffic from young children is a very bad decision. Please do the right thing and keep the current bus routes.

It is about safety , there are too many dangerous rd to be crossed to arrive at CRMS, and speed limits are not respected

It's not about distance, it's about safety. This is not a safe route to walk with the high speed limit. Please do the right thing for our kids.

Ridiculous to expect kids to walk 2 miles to school in Steiner!

Many houses which are slated to have bus service canceled are more than 2 miles from CRMS. There is already so much traffic around CRMS and LWBE every morning, I can't believe that LISD wants to add to this congestion by forcing all these households to drive.

There is no way that my child could walk to CRMS and back home from plateau neighborhood. That is a long distance to walk. I am a teacher and can not drop him to school daily as I need to be at work early. This will effect so many kids.

Quinlan Road is very dangerous. I would not let my kids walk on that street

We need these busses from Bella Mar to CRMS. The walk is too long for children in 104+ degrees temperatures with a backpack, gym bag & instrument. It’s reckless to put children in this situation.

This is really concerning to me. The route for our children to walk to school is very dangerous. People drive on average 50 mph and the sidewalk is right next to the road.. Nobody stops at crosswalk. I am most got hit yesterday trying to cross just yesterday.

The routes many of these kids would have to walk are NOT safe.
