Save Steel Making On Teesside

Save our steel, give Teesside a chance, it is so important for the wider economy and for everyone who is dependent on the success of steel making in our region. We need steel making here, it's part of our heritage and history, don't let it die.

we need to save this industry it provides Teesside with a lot of jobs as is a huge knock on effect as we have the cleaners the security the people who provide the others we may use it also use the docks on shipping side so that will effect the container company's etc my husband worked there for over 25 yrs and would have still been there unfortunately he passed at the early age of 42

This isn't a case of people not seeing a future without a certain industry , this is about the simple fact we as a country NEED to keep a working steel industry

We need steel here. Too many peoples' jobs, in an already depressed area, depend on it.

Help us stay in work and off the dole or jobseekers allowance mr Cameron all we ask for is a level playing field and we can make this work.

Closing SSI's on Teesside will have a devastating impact on the already hard hit north east re unemployment. Show us you care and keep the SSI's open.

Bring back British Steel

Come on government help the steel industry in the North East for once

Save these works to keep loyal men in employment

Too many lives depend on the incomes generated by this steelworks, we need to do all we can to keep it in production and employing local people.

There are many industries which receive gigantic subsidies despite the absence of any real benefit to British people. Things like our "private" public transport, which offers mediocre service for astronomical prices even though the government is already throwing huge piles of taxpayer money directly into their pockets -- and is in fact mostly publically owned, by the publics of France and Germany and others. British money going to foreign interests. What we have here is an opportunity to actually revitalize a British industry, bring back an honest manufacturing aspect back to Britain's rapidly diminishing set of skills and resources, get back to the business of producing world class quality; finally lift the North East out of the recession London has left it in, and perhaps take some small steps down the almost impossibly long road back to Britain being a respected member of the global community.
