What ever the impact was in 2009 it is nothing to what we will experience this time !. Last time there was very few forced redundancies, many walked taking voluntary redundancy leaving the rest of the workers to have transfers. This time there will be no redundancy money, no job transfer. The impact is unbearable to even think about.

shutting the plant down affects my family directly and dramatically. Absolutely shocking they've let it get to this stage. Things need to change.

Having worked in the offices at Warrenby, Dock Street, Lackenby and lastly Steel House since I was 16, leaving 24 years later, having lived through the steel strike of 1980 I am aware of how important an industry Steel making is. How could you buy your smart new cars without the steel to make them? Teesside is the hub of the whole industry as are their employees present and future.
